November 25, 1897

We were married 11.15 A.M then went home and had dinner then had some fun in the afternoon with the guests and then went to our own home on the 5 o’clock train and arrived here at seven o’clock. Nice weather but rained in the evening.

November 26, 1897

Stormy weather. Richard went to work. I stayed at home in the forenoon and in the afternoon I went in the stores and in Richards shop. I wrote a letter to Mama. Mrs Brown and daughter was here to see us in the evening. We received letters from Uncle William and Helene.

November 28, 1897

We got up at eight o’clock went to Church and then ate dinner then we went out and made Elliots a visit and brought home the little dog. In the evening we wrote seven letters to Maybelle, Mamie, Laura, Saboch, Uncle William, Father Eisold, Lynn Strickard. Nice weather.

November 29, 1897

It snowed. Richard went to work. I took the letters to the P.O. and visited Mrs Brown a little while. Mrs Rockett was here to see me a little while. We received letters from Tosca, Laura, and Curt and Mamma and I wrote a letter to Mamma.

December 1, 1897

Nice weather. Richard worked. Papa and Mamma came here at two o’clock on the train and went home at five o’clock. I took them at the Depot until they were gone. Miss Brown was here to see me in the forenoon.

January 9, 1898

Nice weather. Nettie and Bertha Seuss and Clara Findeisen was here. They stayed here and ate dinner with us then Martha and the girls went to Florence to see some German people and got back just in time to catch the 5.35 train. Richard was home with Auntie.

January 10, 1898

Nice weather. Richard worked. Martha went to the Butcher shop in the forenoon to get some meat. Martha, Auntie, Oscar went up to the Library and read a while and then I took them on the train on the 5 o’clock.
